Match Reports:

Wednesday 21st April

Doire Colmcilles Under-14s had mixed fortunes this week with the side fighting back on Monday evening to earn a deserved draw against Craigbane in their first league outing of the season, whilst bowing out of the Feile na nOg in the semi-finals being beaten by a good Faughanvale team. In the league game against Craigbane there was some excellent individual play and team spirit to score two goals and two points in the closing stages of the game. There was a great individual goal by Conal Duffy and an excellent free kick from Mathew McDermott earning the draw. In the Feile, the result was not what the boys had worked for with two unfortunate goals being the main difference between the two teams. With Dee Watson and Brian McCallion missing the team were further hit when Ethan McDaid was injured prior to the game starting. Brian would like to thank all the under 12 players who stepped up to help the team with Michael Mullan, Jack McGeehan and Ryan Watkins all filling in as substitutes for the game. With a promising league campaign to come there is plenty of hope that the team can build upon their start and continue with their development as they should have no fear of anyone they have to face in the league. Brians team face a trip to Banagher in their next league game on Monday the 26th of April.

Sunday 14th February 2010: Claudy v Doire Colmcille Under 14s

Brians Under 14s started the season off in impressive form with an away win against Claudy last Sunday. With a great team performance it was easy to see that the preparation and training that the lads have had is paying dividends.

In defence Stephen Bergin, Jack Fallon and Connor O'Connell held the line well and defended strongly whilst Jack Fallon and Mathew McDermott stepped into midfield had a fantastic game.

The complete forward line worked hard and showed some great skill with Jonathan Doherty showing promise in his first game for the club.

A special mention goes to Aaron Irwin in goal who pulled off three great saves to keep Colmcille in the game before the young black and ambers took control in the last stages of the game to win by two points.
