Congratulations to Kevin, Brian and the U14 squad who collected their league winners trophy on Friday past in Glenullin. Well done lads.

The annual underage presentation for U16, 14, 12 , 10 & 8's took place last Saturday at The Shantallow Community Centre. A large turnout of players, parents and family ensured that a great afternoon was had by all. Awards and presentations were presented by County senior stars Martin & Gavin Donaghy to the Club's successful U14 League winners and all underage players who have participated throughout the year. The Club's U12 team have been invited to the annual St Agnes tournament in Belfast on November 11th. This tournament invites teams from all over Ulster and should be a great day out for the U12's.

Under 18, 16, 14, 12, 10 & 8 training continues on Saturday's at St Columb's College grass gaelic pitch from 10.30 - 12. All new players and parents are welcome. For any information please contact any coach or visit the club website at www.doirecolmcille.net.

The Derry GAA coaching program kicked off last Thursday with 'Learn to Train' for 8 - 12 year old coaches. The large turnout ensured a good night's coaching was had by all. There will be a Level 1 commencing on November 10th and any club coach interested should contact any committee member. The Club would like to thank and wish Richard Ferris all the best for his herculean efforts in developing gaelic games in Derry.

There will be a Child Protection Course taking place in the near future and if you are interested please contact any committee member.

The county SCOR is taking place in November and the Club is looking for dancers, musicians and a quiz team. If you are interested please contact Seamas on 07742410930 before 8th November.

The ladies county AGM will take place on December 3rd. Any nominations or proposals should be forwarded to Seamas ASAP.

The Executive Committee has called a full Club meeting on Tuesday night 17th Oct at 7pm sharp in Celtic Park - all members must attend.

The Club's victorious U14 team will be presented with the North Derry League trophy this Friday night in Glenullin. Well done to Kevin, Brian and the squad for a excellent season. Bus departs from College at 6pm sharp.

City Oaks for U8, 10 & 12's will resume this Sunday in Celtic Park from 11am - 12.30pm. Please arrive in plenty of time to ensure a prompt start at 11.

The seniors continued their winning ways with a good win over Glen on a scoreline of 2-9 to 1-8.

There is now only 1 league game remaining away to Lissan with a date yet to be confirmed. A top half of the table is still a very real possibility for this season after last week's good win. There will be training on Tuesday and Thursday at the College at 6.45pm sharp as we still have an outside chance of reaching the play-offs.

The seniors had a good win away to Magilligan last Sunday in the league on a scoreline of 1-11 to 1-2.

There are now only 2 league games remaining with a home fixture against Glen on Sunday 10th Sept with a 5.30 pm throw-in in Celtic Park and away to Lissan on a date to be confirmed. A top half of the table is still a very real possibility for this season after last week's good win.

There will be training this Thursday at the College at 7pm sharp as we still have an outside chance of reaching the play-offs. Training will also take place next Tuesday & Thursday at the College with a 7pm sharp start on both nights.

The seniors tamely bowed out the Junior Championship against a more determined Sean Dolan's side on a scoreline of 1-3 to 0-14 at Celtic Park on Sunday past.

There are now only 3 league games remaining away to Magilligan on Sunday 3rd Sept, home to Glen on Sunday 10th Sept both with a 5.30 pm throw-in and away to Lissan on a date to be confirmed. A top half of the table is still a very real possibility for this season.

Training has now ended for seniors on Tuesday and Thursday's although it is planned to continue indoors during the winter months.

The seniors were awarded 2 points last week as Slaughtneil were unable to field.

The seniors have a busy week ahead with 3 games in 7 days. This Sunday we are away to Ballinderry with a 5.30 throw-in and on Wednesday we are away to Lissan and on the 23rd we are away to Bellaghy. We must win all 3 games if we are to maintain our slender hopes of achieving a play-off place.

The seniors suffered a disappointing defeat away to Glack last week. Minus several players they competed well for long periods but conceding 4 soft goals ensured that they were always chasing the game. Final score Colmcille 1-11, Glack 4-10.

Following their excellent win at home to Bellaghy on Sunday (0-14 to 2-5), the seniors are away to Glack tonight/last night, Thursday.
 
The club extends sympathy to PJ Loughran on the death of his uncle in England this week. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam uasal.

The winning numbers in the club's weekly lottery were 5,11,16,17. There were no winners of either the jackpot or the weekly match-three draw. Next week's lottery jackpot will be £900.
 
Doire Colmcille under-eights have a fun league game on Saturday. All players should meet at St Columb's college at 10.30am. Training for the underage teams continues on Tuesdays from 7pm to 8.30pm and on Saturday's from 10.30am to noon at St Columb's college.

The seniors got back to winning ways last Friday with a good home win against Lissan. Winning on a scoreline of 2-7 to 0-11.

The seniors next game is a home fixture against Bellaghy on Sunday at Celtic Park with a 5.30 throw-in.

The seniors continued their losing streak with a poor performance at home to Drum. A lack of discipline ensured that they were defeated on a scoreline of Colmcille 1-9, Drum 3-9.

Next game for the seniors is a home fixture against city rivals Dolans at Celtic Park with a 5.30pm throw in on Sunday

The seniors had a good away win to Glen on Sunday past. Played in terrible conditions the team coped well and ran out winners on a scoreline of 2-14 to 0-5. The U12 & 10's played host to Pearse's on Saturday past in their final Fun League game and provided another excellent display of football skills against an equally excellent Pearse's team. The seniors continued their promising start with a hard fought draw away to Drum. Score Colmcille 1-7, Drum 0-10.The seniors 3rd league game of the season is a City derby against SeanDolan's. Throw in is at 5pm on Saturday with the venue to be confirmed dueto the possibility of Derry's game with Down been switched to Celtic park.

An understrength senior travelled to Glack in the Neal Carlin Cup and were deservedly beaten by a more committed and hungrier Glack team. Best for Colmcille were Andy Quigley in goals and David Tierney. The annual senior  residential takes place this weekend with a weekend of activities planned in Ballintoy, County Antrim. The league is planned to start on the 11th March with fixtures yet to be confirmed.

The new coaching calendar has been issued by Ulster Council and details of all events will be posted here shortly. Anyone interested can either pass on details through this website, or contact any member of the Executive.

Ladies:
The Executive Committee, and all club members, would like to express their congratulations to Davy Flynn and his team upon reaching the Ulster Semi-final. A match report is available on the Reports tab.

Club Gear:
With the recent closure of Elvery's sports in Waterloo place a new supplier of club gear has had to be found. Club gear is now available - all O'Neills gear - from any member of the Executive Committee - see Merchandise tab for details.

Night at the Races:
A Night at the Races was organised for 28th October in the PO Club. Overall a good nights craic with members having a laugh and a bet. Any proceeds yet to be returned should be made asap - contact any Committee member for further details.

Dinner Dance:
This years annual prizegiving and Dinner Dance has been set for 19th November in the Tower Hotel. As with previous years, attendance ensures a better night for all involved, and a good bit of craic can be had by all. Tickets are on sale prices £19.50 each.

Executive Committee:
Club Executive committee met on Monady 7th November. Minutes to be published to Executive members shortly. This was the final mmeting of the current Committee pre AGM

Sponsors Draw:
Sponsors draw took place during the Summer at the Neal Carlin Cup Final, with the winning ticket bought by Hugh Casey. Due to advertising restrictions Hugh has negotiated terms with McCartney&Casey Solicitors for the sponsorship deal.

Schools Programme:
Coaching has begun ended for the summer in our feeder schools. For next year, anyone who has some free time, and is willing to get involved with this programme can volunteer here or get in contact with Stephen Sims
