Doire Colmcille CLG has established a Development Committee, under the direction of the Executive Committee, with the purpose of identifying suitable areas for the creation of 'Pairc Colmcille'.

The Development Committee has already met with governing bodies with a vision to establishing a mutually beneficial and viable partnership. With this in mind Doire Colmcille CLG has made a formal application to Derry City Council Recreation and Leisure Department for the use/ownership of the Lowry's Park space - a currently under used area of parklands at Lowry's lane. This area is a den for anti-social behaviour, and local residents are often plagued with the effects of underage drinking etc.

Doire Colmcille CLG firmly believes that this area of open space can be transformed and rejeuvenated into a purpose built, state of the art, community based sports facility with hall and committee rooms - all of which will be made amenable to the local community to facilitate as many groups as possible.
